Event Details


What:

The ASEAN Research Collaboration Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education through the International Education Innovation Fund and is supported by the RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub. 

The Project will deliver Early Career Researcher (ECR) placements for ASEAN member states in Australian research institutions in shared priority areas. The ECRs will need to be within eight years of completing their PhDs. Between 75-100 early career researchers from ASEAN countries will complete a research project at an Australian research institution over 1 to 3 months across three rounds. 

When:

Round 1: 2 June 2025 – 29 August 2025
Round 2: A second round of the Project will open for applications in July 2025. More details to follow.
Round 2: A third round of the Project will open in October 2025. More details to follow.

Eligible Countries:

Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, 
Viet Nam, any country that joins ASEAN during the project.

Eligible Research Focus Areas:

Agriculture and Food, Resources and Energy, Infrastructure, The Green Economy, any other priority areas that will bolster Australia's competitiveness and drive commercialisation outcomes
